About Sprout & Blossom Farm
Sprout & Blossom Farm began in 2017 in Vancouver, WA, rooted in a deep love for good food, agriculture, and community. The farm is owned and operated by Lyndsay Jacobs, but we wouldn’t be anything without the incredible people who work beside us and the customers who support us.
We are a small-scale, low and no-till farm specializing in heirloom and specialty varieties of vegetables, flowers, and herbs. When we say we grow everything, we mean it. Our fields are filled with a diverse array of crops, grown with care and intention.
While we’re not certified organic, we follow all organic practices, using no chemicals or synthetic fertilizers, or weird stuff. Just healthy, nutrient-rich, and living soil. We prioritize soil regeneration, using compost, cover cropping, and no-till methods to build fertility and support biodiversity. The broadfork is one of our favorite tools, and even though it takes more time, it is worth it for the long-term health of the land. Our approach to farming is rooted in respect, respect for the soil, the plants, and the ecosystem we are part of. We believe that all things are connected, and by creating a symbiotic relationship between them, we all thrive. We love to experiment with companion planting and intercropping. Another way to create diversity and happier plants.
Our produce and flowers are primarily available at the Vancouver Farmers Market and through our partnership with the Clark County Food Bank. While we have previously offered a CSA subscription, we are currently exploring new ways to share our harvest. We hope to bring the CSA back in the future, so stay tuned!
In recent years, we have expanded beyond vegetables into cut flowers and medicinal herbs, blending our love for all plants. We now offer specialty herbal skin oils, spice and salt blends, dried herbs, tea blends. dried floral creations, and so much more, bringing the beauty and healing power of plants into everyday life.

Meet the Farmer
Lyndsay is the owner, operator and lead farmer of Sprout and Blossom Farm.

I definitely grew up a city girl. Born and raised in Alexandria, VA, a suburb of Washington, DC, my childhood was far from the farm life I live now. After high school, I attended James Madison University, studying Graphic Design and Interior Architecture. During my freshman year, I took a required sociology course that introduced me to industrial agriculture and its negative impact on the environment. That class sparked something in me. From then on, I dove deeper into learning about agriculture, weaving it into many of my art projects.

I knew I needed to learn how to grow my own food. After graduating, instead of heading into the design industry, I packed my car, drove west, and started WWOOFing on an organic homestead in Hood River, OR. From that first experience, I was hooked. I wanted to learn everything I could about farming, which led me to an apprenticeship at Zenger Farm in Portland.
After my apprenticeship ended, the opportunity to start my own farm surfaced, and I jumped in
.
For me, growing food using organic practices and then some is non-negotiable. By fostering a symbiotic relationship between plants, animals, and humans, we can combat environmental issues, improve our health, and strengthen our connections with each other and the land. Food is one of the greatest connectors. We all have to eat, and we all deserve access to nutritious, ethically grown food.

Aside from farming, I love to cook and would definitely consider myself a bit of a kitchen witch—crafting up ferments, salsas, sauces, decadent cakes, savory creations, seasoning blends, and more. I love making everything from scratch, not just in the kitchen, but in all aspects of life, from cleaning supplies to beauty products.

When I'm not at the farm, I definitely have the travel bug and have been on many backpacking adventures abroad. I love all things nature and enjoy practicing aerial, dance, and movement arts. Most of all, I cherish time spent with my family, friends, and my crazy orange kitty Rory.
